Kimberly and Richard Brim were very strategic
in opening their new coffee shop, Brewster’s Beanery, in Delta Township
on Lansing's west end. They listened to the business experts—the one’s
of the “location, location, location” ilk—and opened up shop in a part
of the city that 30,000 cars pass by each day.
“About 10,000 cars get off the highway and don’t see another coffee shop until they find us,” says Kimberly Brim.
The Brims’ 2,100 square foot coffee house includes a large espresso bar
and barista-trained employees, wi-fi and enough space for Friday night
swing dancing classes.
Brewster’s Beanery opened in January, and though the Brims have only
been open for a few months, things are going well. Brewster’s is
getting customers from all over the area, including Cooley Law School students who travel from their Downtown Lansing classes to Brewster’s 6003 W. Saginaw Highway location.
“I know that I have many, many customers that come in the store every week that love it here. They think it’s the best place in town,”Brim says. “I would rather have 50 people who think this place is the best than 100 who would walk in and never come back.”
