Former Club 131 in East Lansing Adds New Name, More Features

East Lansing’s popular Club 131 has been redesigned to keep the ambiance fresh, exciting and chic. It also got a new name–Club Rush.

The club was repainted, has new furniture and most importantly, has a new lighting system that includes 54 ceiling lights and more than 80 color-changing lights.

“It’s enough to make it look drastically different,” says Brittlyn Riley, whose parents, Pat and Trisha Riley, own the club.

Though Club 131 has a new face, it’s not an entirely new place. The club will still only be open on Friday and Saturday nights, and will feature DJs from all over the region.

Riley says the idea of a weekend-only club creates enough hype that Club Rush doesn’t have to remain open during the week: it does enough business on the weekend.

The club offers “an entirely different environment than going to a bar or restaurant," says Riley.
