Dino's $6.99 Barber Studio Lays Claim to New 1,200 Sq Ft East Lansing Location

Dino Horton just opened his second Dino's $6.99 Barber Studio on Albert Street in East Lansing. The original Dino’s, which is known for a $6.99 haircut, is on Cedar and Cavanaugh in South Lansing.

Dino’s owner, Dino Horton, says he wanted to open a second location that was close to the Michigan State University (MSU) campus not only for increased foot traffic, but also because inexpensive haircuts are in high demand among the college crowd.

“It’s growing pretty fast,” Horton says about his business. “We knew our time was coming because you can’t put everyone in a small shop.”

The 1,200 square foot 412 Albert St. location has four employees and opened at the end of May.

“We’d like to see several $6.99 barber studios around the state and maybe the country,” Horton says.

Horton and his employees are also community players. Horton wants to set up a homework program for local students.

“We do a lot of community activity programs that help out the kids,” he says.
