$770,000 Mixed Use Conversion Project Adds MSU Student Housing

The Fryling Construction company is converting the business portion of a mixed-use property on Abbott Road in East Lansing to make way for Michigan State University’s (MSU) growing student population.

The Fryling Construction company is renovating the first floor of the 21,000 square foot Abbott Manor apartment building/office space.

The 8,000 square foot space will be turned into four new apartments, turning the former mixed-use building into additional student housing. The existing apartments on the first and second floors of the building will also get updates.

“It is a privilege to be a part of the continuing growth and improvement to the City of East Lansing, and the Abbott Manor project will be a great asset to the community,” says project manager, Bill Carmean.

The $770,000 renovation should be complete by the end of the summer.
