Dowding Industries recently received a $9 million grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund Board to finance its 34,300-square foot addition in Eaton Rapids.
In May, Dowding announced plans to build a new $7.1 million manufacturing facility
next to its existing facility in Eaton Rapids. The new plant will be used to make wind turbines parts and transmission housings. The expansion will create 200 jobs.
"The City of Eaton Rapids is excited about the decision of Dowding Industries to expand in town rather than move out-of-state," says City of Eaton Rapids Mayor Jamie Davidson.
The company will also use a $1.5 million state tax credit for the facility.
