Matt and Caryn Rhodes have opened an upscale furniture consignment store next to Dusty’s restaurant in Okemos.
Galleria Consignment features high quality, brand name furniture and home accessories that can be purchased on-site or on the Web.
“We’re really encouraged by the business we’ve received from shoppers and buyers as well as consigners,” says Bonnie Potchen, Galleria Consignment store manager. “The people who are bringing in the pieces seem to understand the direction we’re taking with the store.”
Potchen says the Rhodes opened Galleria Consignment near Dusty’s because the space was available and they thought the business “might be viable in the marketplace.”
“We’re finding that the savvy shopper is realizing they have an opportunity to find unique pieces at a nice price,” she says.
Galleria Consignment opened in October 2007.
