Phase Two of Old Town Riverfront Brownstones Complete

The second phase of a three-phase development in Old Town Lansing is complete.

Developer Joel Ferguson recently put the finishing touches on eight town home-style condos for his On the Grand project.

“There probably are not too many areas in Lansing as far as downtown, where you have a great concentration of shops, galleries, restaurants and entertainment venues that are also walkable,” says Mary Jo DeHaven with Coldwell Banker Hubbell BriarWood, the firm managing the sale of the On the Grand properties.

All of the On the Grand units are adjacent to the Grand River. The first phase, which included 20 units, was complete in 2002. DeHaven says two of the eight newest units have already sold.

“The city has a lot of interest in this area and they’re offering Neighborhood Enterprise Zone tax incentives on these, and they have from the beginning,” she says. “That’s a big selling feature to help revitalize the Old Town area.”

The On the Grand properties are geared toward young professionals looking for high end amenities, DeHaven says.
