Big City-Style Male Salon to Open in Downtown Lansing

Michael and Jodi Campbell are getting ready to open Lansing’s first men's-only salon, a hair, nail, waxing and massage haven men can call their own.

“It’s kind of a good ol' boys' club,” says Michael Campbell.

The 950 square foot salon, which is located next to the Nuthouse and across the street from the Lansing Center on Michigan Avenue, will have four chairs, a predominantly female staff and flat screens so the guys can watch sports while getting groomed.

“It’s going on in bigger cities,” says Campbell. “We thought it would be interesting to be the first one here in Lansing.”

Campbell says his salon will be attractive to the thousands of male professionals working in Downtown Lansing. Goodfellas Salon is also next to the Harem Urban Lounge, giving men who want to get spruced up for a night on the town easy access to a hairdo and relaxing massage.

The Campbells have invested between $40,000 and $60,000 to get Goodfellas ready for its April opening.
