$275,000 Rehab Turns Leslie Warehouse into New Events Center

Leslie resident Bob Howe has a lot of faith in the revitalization of his community and recently put $275,000 into the renovation of an old, car-parts warehouse, which he turned into the city’s only banquet hall.

“It seems to be a little much for a small town, but I’m receiving bookings without much advertising,” says Howe, proud owner of the Leslie Events Center.

The 3,000 square foot space is perfect for wedding receptions, meetings and birthday parties. Howe finished the renovations in July, 2006, and opened the banquet in January.

“Local people come in and their jaws drop because they knew that it was a step up from a dirty warehouse, and now it’s really quite elegant,” Howe says.
