The Government Services Administration (GSA) signed a $2.4 million lease to keep the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in its current building at 3100 W. Road in East Lansing.
The deal keeps the IRS in the building for the next 10 years.
“They sent it out for bid and we responded and were favorable, so they decided it was better to stay there than go anywhere else,” says Joe Gentilozzi, who worked on the deal with CB Richard Ellis.
The IRS has been in the multi-tenant building for five years. The American Cancer Society and the Red Cross both have offices in that building as well.
“This means we have the retention of a major tenant,” Gentilozzi says.
The landlord is working on about $60,000 worth of improvements for the tenant, including the installation of shatter-resistant film on the windows.
