Thomas Martin, owner of Jude’s Barbershop just opened his 15th Jude’s Barbershop location in Lansing near the Frandor Shopping Center.
Jude’s Barbershop is a male-oriented barbershop that focuses on haircuts, straight razor face shaves and hair coloring.
“Our whole thing is bringing back old-fashioned services that barbers used to do, 
but don’t do anymore,” Martin says. This includes using vibrating massagers and placing hot towels on clients’ faces before a shave.
The only difference between Jude’s Barbershop and old fashioned shops is that Jude’s atmosphere is much more modern. Martin wanted to add cold beer to his list of services, but couldn’t due to liquor laws.
“We want people to walk in and think, ‘This is the atmosphere for me,’” Martin says.
Jude’s Barbershop is a Grand Rapids-based company. The 3415 E. Saginaw location in Lansing is Jude’s Barbershop’s 15th location.
“We looked at the demographics,” Martin says. “It’s close to MSU and seemed like a great new location. There’s a lot of people going in and out. It’s a popular place.”
