Lansing development company Karp and Associates is working on a redevelopment plan for the 40,000 square foot former Michigan Dental Association (MDA) building in Downtown Lansing.
Richard Karp, a partner with Karp and Associates, says the company is considering an information technology build-out that could house two-to-three high tech firms.
“We’re not only confirming the users, but we also have to complete the incentive package for both the users and the structure,” Karp says.
Karp estimates that it will take around six months to put the package together and find tenants. He says build out should take five months.
The site is primed for high tech because it sits on a major fiber route hub, he says.
The 230 N. Washington Sq. building was home to the MDA for almost 30 years. In the spring, the MDA moved to its new, $4.2 million headquarters in Meridian Township.
Karp and Associates is well known for the redevelopment of The Arbaugh building in Downtown Lansing and is halfway through the $36 million renovation of the Durant Hotel in Flint.
