Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) is the third area economic generator that’s moved into the Stadium District in Downtown Lansing.
LEAP occupies a 2,589 square foot space on the second floor of the Stadium District, just down the hall from the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“For a couple of years we’ve been interested in having better coordination with the Chamber and the economic, development and commerce hubs in this region,” says Denyse Ferguson, president and CEO of LEAP. “We’re all sort of in a home together, and that makes this more of a destination.”
Ferguson says having the Chamber and the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau (GLCVB), which is also in the same Stadium District location, allows visitors and businesses to obtain area information in one place rather than three.
The Chamber used to be further down Michigan Avenue, while the GLCVB used to be in Old Town and LEAP on Lansing’s Westside.
“As many people as they can see, touch and feel in one building, the better for our clients,” Ferguson says.
The three entities are working together to increase regional cooperation in terms of business and development.
Eight people work in the LEAP office. LEAP will host an open house at its new location from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, June 25.
