Michigan Pharmacists Association Moving to 16,849 Sq Ft Downtown Building

The Michigan Pharmacists Association (MPA) purchased the 16,849 square foot building, formally known as the Christman building, at 404-408 Kalamazoo Plaza in Downtown Lansing.

The MPA has been in its current 11,500 square foot 815 N. Washington building since the 1970s.

“It was a priority for the Michigan Pharmacists Association to stay in the Downtown area, so we were really pleased to find a facility that would accommodate our needs Downtown,” says Jill Cobb, MPA director of communications.

The building is undergoing renovations and the MPA is shooting for a spring 2010 move in date. The MPA is a professional association for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

“Our new facility is quite a bit larger and we’re excited about that because it will offer us a better opportunity to have larger meeting spaces and allow us to offer more continuing education programs,” she says.

The Christman Company occupied the building for more than 80 years. In 2008, the Christman Company moved to the historic former Mutual building in Downtown Lansing.

The Christman Company has been nationally recognized for rehabilitation of historical buildings and is currently working on the new Accident Fund headquarters.
