Mountain Books & Gifts Moves to Old Town Lansing Location

Mountain Books & Gifts recently joined the many artists and boutiques lining Old Town Lansing’s streets, opening up on Turner Street in the former 1,400 square foot Banyan Gallery.

Petersen moved his metaphysical bookshop to Old Town from the Lansing Mall, where it’s been since the summer of 2005.

“We’ve become another destination store again,” he says, noting that he wasn’t getting the desired foot traffic in the mall. “People down here are gracious. The culture down here is superb.”

Though he’s only been open for a few weeks, Petersen’s already seen an increase in shop visitors. The first weekend he opened, Old Town was hosting BluesFest, which attracts thousands of people.

Mountain Books & Gifts sells numerous books representing different religious and spiritual followings. It also sells healing crystals, jewelry and other spiritually oriented accessories. Mountain Books & Gifts also offers private tarot readings.
