New 6,000 Sq. Ft. Lansing Office Furniture Store Plans to Expand Staff

Jim Baker’s 6,000 square foot, Lansing-based office furniture supply store is doing quite well.

Corporate Office Interiors specializes in providing used and new office furniture to businesses that need large quantities of cubicles, office walls and desk chairs.

“The furniture industry is changing a little bit,” Baker says. “People don’t necessarily have the budget to buy brand new workstations like they had in years past.”

So, Baker’s carved out a niche for himself by buying and selling used office furniture.

“We’ve really been able to cut budgets for people,” he says.

The move toward greener, environmentally friendly activities also gives his business a boost, as some business owners are more interested in recycling old office furniture than they are in buying brand new.

“We’re as green as you can get, because we’re buying stuff that would normally go in a landfill,” he says.

Baker plans on adding several employees to his three-person staff. Corporate Office Interiors is next to the Lansing airport and has been open since February.
