In keeping with plans to make Michigan State University
(MSU) more walker, biker and student friendly, MSU officials recently completed
a $750,000 pedestrian walkway that includes green space, columns and pieces of
outdoor artwork.
Benefactors Plaza is located along the pedestrian walkway
adjacent to the Old Horticulture Garden and includes a series of columns
recognizing some of the school’s major donors.
“Not only does Benefactors Plaza recognize those groups
and individuals, it also incorporates artwork on one of the campus’s major
walkways,” says MSU campus planner Steve Troost.
Benefactors Plaza was constructed as an extension of the
Donor Wall of Honor, which is located in the Kellogg Center and recognizes
important MSU alumni.
