East Lansing-based vocational career school, CareerQuest,
will move to Lansing's Southside and double its physical space by October 2008.
CareerQuest is moving from its 15,000 square foot East
Lansing building into a 28,000 square foot building on Lansing’s Southside.
“We thought by moving our operation to Lansing, it would
really help us out with our enrollment and we’ll be closer to where our
students are living right now,” says CareerQuest's co-owner, Todd Brewer.
CareerQuest has been growing consistently for the last
couple of years. Brewer says enrollment is increasing because adults are
realizing that, unless they have specified training, they can’t compete in the
marketplace.
CareerQuest recently opened a school in Jackson, which
significantly increased enrollment.
“From that standpoint we’ve seen a dramatic increase in
students, because we have to campuses instead of one,” Brewer says.
CareerQuest doesn’t own the building at its new 3215 S. Pennsylvania
location, but the owner is renovating the building for CareerQuest.
“The building is really in bad shape,” says Brewer. “It’s
falling apart, but it will be completely gutted and we’ll have a brand new
facility when we move in in October."
