To accommodate its growth, nano-tech firm, XG Sciences, is renovating a 6,000 square
foot building within Southside Lansing’s Quality Dairy Complex. The $650,000 renovation should be complete by the end of 2008.
XG Sciences is a high-tech firm that
develops nanoparticles used in products such as plastic, elastomers
and resins.
The company was launched in 2006 based on a new graphite
nanoparticle developed at MSU’s College of Engineering.
“This really is about leveraging our assets, and one of
our greatest assets in the region is Michigan State University,” says Lansing
Mayor Virg Bernero.
The expansion will create three to five jobs in the next
couple of months and 10-15 jobs over the next year, says Scott Murray, vice president of operations.
