Old Town revamps website, branding with help from Ciesa

The Old Town Commercial Association has a lot to say - to a lot of different audiences. Between visitor information, merchant communications, staying connected to residents and managing the nonprofit’s internal information, it became clear a couple of years ago that their website just wasn’t up to the job.

“We were managing a dozen sites for festivals and all of our different programming,” says OTCA executive director Brittney Hoszkiw. “It was just a mess from an internal standpoint.”

Being Lansing’s hub for art and design came in handy for Old Town as local merchant CiesaDesign donated their design and development services to revamp the entire site. The page, which remains at www.iloveoldtown.org, features streamlined navigation for business, visitors and volunteers, as well as new branding.

“We have this great “I Love Old Town” campaign,” says Hoszkiw, “and we looked at our website and said, ‘Old Town’ is about color and vibrancy - we are historic buildings, but we’re so much more than that.”

The more colorful, reorganized website went live in January 1. Though Hoszkiw says updates and tweaks are still underway, the organization is very happy with the new page.

“Ciesa is amazing,” she says. “This all came from their brains. Being able to build a website with talented people who have an interested and passion for the area was great.”
