Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau expands staff, programming

A lot of new and exciting things have been going on at the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau lately. So many, in fact, that they needed more staff to handle the extra work.

“We have added new programming like the Greater Lansing Certified Tourism Ambassador program and added new events over the last few years such as “Over the Edge” and March Magic Hoopfest,” says, Vice President of Marketing Communications for GLCVB Tracy Padot.

To help manage the extra initiatives, the GLCVB expanded their staff to 25, adding the position of Marketing Communications Coordinator.

The “Over the Edge” event in particular has garnered not only extra work, but extra attention for the organization. The GLCVB was honored with a PACE award for the 2010 event. The 2011 Over the Edge will take place on Saturday, June 4th which is also the day of the 17th annual Be A Tourist in Your Own Town.
