Dancing Crane Gallery owner Larry Carr is using his technical and musical expertise to help local artists get exposure on the Internet.
Carr is using live video streaming technology to upload every live musical talent that performs at his Eastside Lansing gallery. He plans to have the streaming music
site up by the middle of the month.
"This really is to help promote the Michigan artists," Carr says. "We really want the out-of-towners from Ann Arbor, Flint, Detroit and Muskegon to come here. We just want to give them a little more exposure in Lansing."
Carr's "
Michigan Homegrown Music" series, which started in August, features live musicians Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights. His goal is to have live music every night of the week.
The Dancing Crane Gallery, located at 2312 E. Michigan Ave., also has a recording studio in the back of the gallery for any musicians who want to make a recording.
