Okemos-based management consulting and systems integration firm A.J. Boggs,
just added two new employees, expects to add several more by the end of
the year and is aggressively pursuing the Grand Rapids market.
“There’s
a challenge in getting good people everywhere, so not just Lansing,”
says A.J. Boggs' CEO, Clarke Anderson. “We’ve been able to find good
people in Lansing as well.”
AJ Boggs now has
12 Mid-Michigan-based employees. Anderson says he hopes to hire at
least two more employees within the next couple of months and several
more by the end of the year.
Anderson
attributes his company’s growth to growth in the health care and
defense industries. A.J. Boggs is also pursing the Grand Rapids market.
The company has one Grand Rapids-based employee, but is also looking at
adding another to that location.
“We’ve found the market on that side of the state to be very promising,” Anderson says.
The
company refers to technology as a “sweet spot” in a struggling economy.
This sweet spot has generated consistent business in the Mid-Michigan
area for the company, but has also drawn them into Grand Rapids.
