Inaugural Capital City Film Festival Coming to Downtown Lansing April 2011

For those who love independent film, are studying film or are already making films, get ready for the inaugural Capital City Film Festival (CCFF), scheduled for Downtown Lansing on Apr. 14-17, 2011.

The Capital City Film Festival will give students, amateurs and professional filmmakers a platform to share their work with the Capital region. CCFF will include all genres of film, live music, filmmaker seminars and other activities in several venues across the downtown area.
 
"We hope to create a real showcase of entertainment right here in Mid-Michigan,” says Camron Gnass, owner of Traction and co-founder of CCFF. “With all of the talented students, industry professionals and those interested in film and music, this will be a great destination for many."

The Festival is already accepting submissions. Genres include: Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Non-Student Short and Student categories.

One student filmmaker will win a grand prize of $3,000 and statewide exposure, thanks to a partnership with Digital 10 Network.

Prizes and scholarships totaling over $7,000 will be awarded to students in the competition.
