Michigan State University’s (MSU) College of Education elementary and secondary education graduate programs are among the best in the country, according to a graduate program assessment put together by U.S. News & World Report.
The College of Education’s elementary and secondary graduate programs and rehabilitation counseling graduate program were all ranked number one. The MSU College of Education was ranked 14th overall.
The magazine released the rankings in its 2009 edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools.”
“We’re pleased to be recognized by our peers for the quality of our programs and the work of our faculty, especially their research on teaching and learning and their dedication to preparing the next generation of teachers and researchers,” said Carole Ames, dean of the College of Education.
MSU’s nuclear physics program ranked number two, behind the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; the College of Osteopathic Medicine tied for seventh in the primary care category; the College of Human Medicine ranked 22nd; and the College of Veterinary Medicine ranked ninth.
