$7,771 Grant Primes East Lansing for Upcoming Art Festival

A $7,771 grant to the East Lansing Art Festival (ELAF) will help the beloved spring festival, which attracts visitors from all over the country, to offer more hands-on art programs.

Program Director Corinn VanWyck says the money will help pay for projects that are geared toward young artists.

“We wanted to show kids more ways to grow with the arts, so they could go on to have a career in the arts,” VanWyck says.

The grant will pay for craft projects, potters and performances. The ELAF is scheduled for May 17 and 18, and will feature hundreds of different artists.

“We just wanted to make sure that we are supplying the youth of the community opportunities for arts and culture, to help bring up the next generation of artists,” she says.
