Lansing advertising company, Digital Active, recently
designed a $15,000 tourism site for the city of South Haven, putting the sleepy West
Michigan town on the virtual map for city dwellers looking for a relaxing summer
vacation.
The new site features extensive content management tools,
which allows businesses to update their information online. It also has custom
Google maps, allowing visitors to map out their trip before making hotel
reservations.
“You want to be able to keep those who come [to] visit you
coming back to you, and you want to get more people to visit,” says Todd Ross
with Digital Active. “To do that, we have to look as cool as these other sites,
because people in Chicago are looking at this.”
Digital Active specializes in developing tourism sites
for cities. The firm competed with several South Haven-based companies to
design the site.
