Lansing-headquartered
Lake Trust Credit Union was founded this year through a merger between NuUnion Credit Union and Detroit Edison Credit Union, both longstanding regional entities.
The credit union celebrated

its first day of operations on April 1 with a 3-foot tower comprised of 100 cupcakes, representing the organizations’ combined years of service, including more than 58 years here in Lansing.
"After extensive analysis, it was extremely clear that our organizations were stronger combined," says Danielle Brehmer, marketing director at Lake Trust.
"Upon the member and regulator approvals, we began working with our local warehousing and print vendors,
Impact Solutions and Bradford Printing to get our new marketing materials ready. Additionally, we’ll be using a local agency,
Traction!, to help with our launch campaign."
This merger will make Lake Trust Credit Union Michigan’s fourth largest, with more than $1.5 billion in assets and 22 branches.
"For Lansing, this means a local financial institution with a rich history in our community that people can trust for their personal and business needs for generations to come," adds Brehmer.
