Lansing's Old Town Internet service provider Arialink, is bringing
Internet services to all 13 libraries in the Capital Area District Library
(CADL) jurisdiction as part of a $6 million contract it received from the
state.
Each library will receive a one gigabit connection to the
Arialink fiber optic network, increasing its Internet capacity and
facilitating data communication between all regional organizations. It will also
connect the libraries to other Arialink customers, such as Ingham Intermediate, Lansing Community College and Michigan Virtual University.
“We’re proud of the opportunity to bring our fiber optic
technologies to CADL and the resulting benefits to the community at large.”
says Arialink President Jason Schreiber. “I am excited to live and work in a
region that values the vast educational and community benefits of these
advanced technologies.”
The project will begin in July and should be finished by
2009.
