Lansing Association Using Web Technology to Match Up Manufacturing Skills

The Michigan Manufacturers Association Service Corporation (MMASC) is using a web-based, human resource portal to link employees who work for downsizing manufacturing companies with other manufacturing companies that are growing.

MMASC Spokeswoman Jean Eggemeyer says the new technology, which is managed by Ann Arbor-based PeoplePlus Portals, Inc., will help keep manufacturing talent in the state.

The portal will allow members to publish job openings, search resumes, track the recruitment and selection process and manage resource allocations, among other functions. PeoplePlus Portals provides a similar service for other industries as well.

The MMASC portal will be up and running by April.
