In September, the Lansing Symphony Orchestra (LSO) received $46,000 in grants and gifts.
The Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) gave the Lansing Symphony Orchestra $16,000 and the Loomis, Ewert, Parsley, Davis & Gotting, P.C. law firm gave $30,000 to the Orchestra.
The Loomis contribution goes toward the LSO’s “Securing a Sound Future” campaign. In January, the law firm challenged the LSO to increase individual and corporate giving totals by at least $200,000 by Dec. 31,2008. If the challenge was met, the Loomis Law Firm would contribute $30,000 to the LSO. By the end of August, the Symphony had raised the $200,000, prompting Loomis to throw in an additional $30,000.
“The Lansing Symphony is grateful for this support from the Loomis Law Firm,” says Jack Davis, board member of the LSO. “This challenge has helped to energize our fundraising efforts at a particularly challenging time in our economy.”
