Netvantage, the East Lansing-based search engine marketing firm, is celebrating its first year and already claims 50 clients.
Its principals, Joe Ford and Adam Henige, say keeping their growing company in the Capital region is a no-brainer. The cost of doing business is lower than in Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, let alone another state. And they have access to the
Michigan State University (MSU) intern programs—assets they say economic development groups should publicize more.
“We have a highly talented, motivated workforce here,” says Henige.
“And besides, San Francisco is a long way from the Mackinac Bridge,” jokes Ford.
Ford and Henige just finished a tutorial for
Lansing Rotarians on why companies should be using the Google search engine, which now claims 71 percent of market share.
“It’s become the
Kleenex of the search engine world,” putting the telephone book on its way to the grave, Henige says.
