The staff of Williamston-based engineering company P.I. Engineering has more than doubled in the last couple of years, boosting its employee base to more than 50 people.
This year, P.I. Engineering plans to add one to three new employees.
“We
need software and electronic engineers, and that’s in demand
worldwide,” says P.I. Engineering's president, Michael Hetherington.
The company designs and manufactures input hardware for computers. Its products are sold in roughly 40 different countries.
P.I.
Engineering recently saw revenues jump from $3 million to $4.5 million.
Hetherington says he expects this growth to continue.
His
confidence in that projection is reflected in the fact that he recently
bought 15,000 square feet of new office space. Hetherington says P.I.
Engineering will close on the property in April.
