The Mid-Michigan branch of the Kalamazoo-based Stafford-Smith food service delivery company recently moved from Mason to Lansing as part of a plan to consolidate operations and increase sales.
“We’ve had great growth as a company,” says Tom Ziolsowski, with Stafford-Smith. “We’re probably increasing our sales by 20 percent every year, but we’re doing more with less.”
The 4,000-square foot Lansing office provides plenty of room for Stafford-Smith’s 10-person team. Stafford-Smith’s former Mason location included additional warehouse space. As Stafford-Smith has changed its business model, it’s become less dependent on large warehouses.
The new office is in the Oakwood Executive Park near I-96 in Lansing.
“We were looking for an office suite arrangement and we wanted something near the highway that was centrally located for our travels,” Ziolsowski says.
The 66-year-old Stafford-Smith company was recognized in 2001 by a food service trade magazine as being the No. 1 food service dealer in the country.
