Lansing Regional Chamber Honors 10 Influential Young Leaders

Lansing recently tipped its hat to the Capital region's up and coming leaders at the annual 10 Over the Next 10 event.

The event is hosted by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Grand River Connection and the Greater Lansing Business Monthly. The event highlights the 10 young leaders from a variety of different industries who will significantly move the area forward over the next 10 years.

To be considered, nominees must have lived in the area for at least two years, be younger than 35 and make significant contributions to the community.

“The goal of the program is to help recognize the young professionals that are tomorrow’s leaders and have already had an impact on this region,” says Sarah Smith with the Lansing Regional Chamber.

This year, the Chamber received more than 70 nominations. A panel of business leaders and last year’s winners reviewed the nominations and selected 20 finalists who were then narrowed down to 10 winners.

“An event like this is important to the region because it’s important to celebrate young professionals and the impact they’re having and the changes they’re making to breath life back into Mid-Michigan,” she says.”

This year’s winners include Jessica Yorko with the NorthWest Initiative; Kira Carter with Sparrow Specialty Hospital; Tiffany Ford with the MSU Federal Credit Union; Camron Gnass with Vision Creative; Matthew Hill with Liquid Web; Jamie Schriner-Hooper with the Old Town Commercial Association; Brigham Smith with the City of Lansing Attorneys’ Office; Karen Stefl with Such Video; Brian Anderson with the Lansing Economic Development Corporation and Ryan Henry with the Kincaid Building Group.
