Spartan Internet of Lansing Ramps Up New Online Performance Tracking Tool

An online social network tracking system created by Spartan Internet owner Ryan Vartoogian is gearing up to help businesses track their presence on the Internet.

Originally created to track presidential candidate’s presence on the Internet, the Spartan Internet Political Performance (SIPP) Index looks at 650 quantitative factors across the Internet, including social network outreach, web site traffic, blog presence and search engine utilization. The factors are processed into a single representative score for each of the 2008 presidential candidate's overall Internet market share.

“I think a strong connection exists between how much support they get and their presence online,” Vartoogian says.

Though Vartoogian put the SIPP together for the 2008 election, he’s going to use it to help companies see how well they're using the web to hit their target markets.

Vartoogian says he doesn’t know of any other company that tracks market presence using all of these factors. Vartoogian expects to hire more employees when he commercializes this tracking system.
