Local artist and small business owner, Barb Hranilovich, got picked by the Wall Street Journal in May. The Wall Street Journal used one of her illustrations to highlight an article about sauvignon blanc.
“Lansing’s not a huge market, so I have to push nationally,” Hranilovich says.
The Wall Street Journal found Hranilovich through Theispot.com, an on-line creative community that lets artists post their work so professionals can choose the look they want for a publication or advertisement.
“The art director at the Wall Street Journal was going through Theispot, saw this piece and she told me that’s when she stopped looking,” Hranilovich says.
Hranilovich’s art piece made it into the Wall Street Journal’s May 2 weekend edition.
“Mostly I work locally, but once in a while something juicy happens,” she says. Hranilovich says she can “almost guarantee” that she’ll be working with the Wall Street Journal again.
