Delta Township-based Auto Owners Insurance Co. is considering a $105.3 million, 250,000 square foot expansion.
According to excerpts from the article:
The Delta Township-based insurer is pursuing roughly $26 million in state and local tax incentives for its corporate complex expansion.
The proposed project would include building a three-story, 250,000-square-foot facility on about 140 acres it owns along South Creyts Road near Interstate 496, just south of its headquarters on Anacapri Boulevard.
"Auto-Owners is reaching a point at its current site where there's no more room for expansion," said spokesman Tom Shields.
The company's current headquarters spans 600,000 square feet. It recently finished a 96,000-square-foot data center in Delta Township and has plans for a 45,000-square-foot data center near Traverse City.
