Lansing-based Clark Construction is the general contractor for the $17 million construction of the Michigan International Speeday suite and media center project.
According to excerpts from the article:
The speedway recently announced Phase One of a multi-phase plan to redesign the track infield, starting with demolition and construction of the current terrace suites and media center. The project will begin following the track’s August NASCAR weekend and will be ready for the 2010 season at the track.
After a bidding process, Clark was chosen for its extensive portfolio of successful projects including Oldsmobile Park Minor League Baseball Stadium in Lansing, and Michigan State University’s Spartan Stadium expansion, MSU’s Munn Ice Arena renovations, and the Michigan Athletic Club expansion, all in East Lansing.
“We are committed to using Michigan-based companies for our projects, when possible,” track President Roger Curtis said. “Not only is Clark’s reputation in construction second to none, but they have experience in LEED-certified projects that really got us excited.”
