Michigan State University's (MSU) Taekwondo Club has qualified to compete in the World Championships.
According to excerpts from the article:
This
year, for the first time, an MSU Taekwondo athlete has qualified to
compete in the World Championships. Having a competitor at the
world-class level is an honor for the MSU program, and the culmination
of nearly 40 years of growth and achievement.
Although newly named to the US National Team,
Ron Southwick has been practicing taekwondo at MSU for more than 25
years. A student of grandmaster Jay Kim, he donates his time to teach
five sections per year of beginning courses for MSU undergraduates, and
serves as head instructor of the MSU Taekwondo Club, a student
organization devoted to the study of taekwondo.
