Big Crowds Buy Out Vendors at First Weekend of East Lansing Farmer’s Market

East Lansing brought back its own weekly farmer’s market and was met with a crowd of hundreds. Several vendors were so popular they sold out of fresh produce and offerings.

According to excerpts from the article:

The market held its opening celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. But shortly after noon, some vendors had already sold all their produce.

Matt Wrzesinski of Leslie-based Wrzesinski Market Garden had nothing left to sell by 12:30 p.m.

"I was pleasantly surprised," he said. "It's been very busy here. I think it's great."

Karen Wilczewski of Howell-based Wilczewski Farm & Greenhouses also was happy with the turnout. She and her husband, Kurt, sell perennials at several other area farmer's markets and welcomed the chance to enter the Lansing area.

"I didn't expect so many people. We'll be coming back every week if possible," she said.

The East Lansing Farmer's Market will be open Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Oct. 25. It's located at the Valley Court Park, 201 Hillside Court, in East Lansing.
