The
Lansing Church of God in Christ is planning to build 48 affordable housing units in south Lansing. The church is looking to build 24 homes for seniors and 24 homes for families who can't afford to buy a house.

The leaders of a Lansing church want to turn vacant land along Wise Road south of Jolly Road into homes for 24 seniors and 24 families who can't afford to buy a house.
"We deal with the spiritual man on Sunday and in Bible studies," the Rev. Samuel Duncan told News 10. "Here is an opportunity for us to empower people in the community."
The church has been talking about developing the land for years and got support from the mayor's office back in April. But the plan has yet to be approved by the city council.
