Capital Region International Airport's newest provider, the airline formerly known as Air Azul, is being rebranded as JetAmerica, and is offering expanded flight services and opportunities for local businesses. Flights are starting July 1, and each one will reportedly offer nine seats at a price of nine dollars.
Reservations that travelers made when the airline was named Air Azul must be rescheduled.

"We were going to base it out of Newark (N.J.). We're going to probably base the aircraft out of Lansing," said Sharon McDermott, director of airline services for the Florida-headquartered Sun America Inc., which owns JetAmerica.
JetAmerica is pursuing Lansing's business class and not just planning nonstop flights to the Washington-Baltimore area and Newark, but also to Melbourne, Fla., near Orlando.
The carrier announced the Washington-Baltimore area and Newark routes in March.

"It would actually be nice to have the option from a business standpoint," said Annie Topie, Jackson National's community relations manager.
