Birmingham, Ala.-based Liberty National Life Insurance Co. is adding 100 jobs to its East Lansing branch.

Liberty National Life Insurance Co. opened a new branch office about six weeks ago in East Lansing, marking the company's foray into the Michigan market, branch manager Dennis McComb said.
"I felt like it was centralized, so if we had customers we needed to get to on the east side or the west side of the state, it's more accessible from the Lansing area," McComb said.
About 75 sales agents and sales managers eventually will work from an office in the Lansing area, and another 25 or so employees will work as telecommuters from other Michigan cities, he said.
