The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC)
gave JCIM LLC, a Dearborn-based company, a $3.37 million state tax credit to help defray the $4
million JCIM will spend to redevelop an old Delta Township-based
Plastech car parts facility.
According to excerpts from the article:
Locally,
JCIM will invest $1 million into the 150-employee plant near the
intersection of Mount Hope Highway and Canal Road. The funds will be
used to upgrade the plant and at least 35 jobs will be added.
JCIM
representatives didn't return calls seeking comment and further
details, but people familiar with the planned expansion called it a win
for mid-Michigan.
JCIM bought the plant from Plastech Engineered Products Inc. in June. The company had filed for bankruptcy in February.
