Promise of Lansing Film Studio Attracts Hollywood Interest

Downtown Lansing’s proposed $9 million film studio is catching the attention of Hollywood studio bigwigs like LionsGate, Warner Bros., Columbia and DreamWorks.

According to excerpts from the article:

"My partner Matt and I just went to L.A. for two weeks and we met with people from LionsGate, Warner Bros., Columbia and DreamWorks," said T. Dominic Cochran, a partner with Ahptic Film and Digital in Lansing. "They all expressed interest in coming here. And an executive from LionsGate said 'we're going to find a television project to come to Lansing.'"

Earlier this year, Ahptic Film and Digital and local developer Pat Gillespie, announced a proposal for City Center Studios to open in 2009. The $9 million, 71,000-square-foot studio would include two soundstages, offices and post-production facilities for editing or audio work.

Both soundstages would be 24,000 square feet and could be combined into one.
