businesses patiently waited for the roundabout at Michigan Avenue and Washington Square to be finished, and now
they’re ready for the newly opened roundabout to reel in some business.
According to excerpts from the article:
"There are several projects that are two year
projects and several of them that are one year," explains Public Service
Director Chad Gamble. "So we'll be working in the downtown area for many
years to come to improve the infrastructure that serves the businesses
downtown."
One of those businesses is Weston's Kewpee Restaurant.
It's roughly 200 feet from the new traffic circle, and it took a hit during
construction.
"We hope to make that money back."
Autumn Weston is the daughter of owner Gary Weston. She
says she knows construction is inevitable, but understands it will help
business in the long run.
