Traditional playground equipment is old school as far as East Lansing's Glencairn Elementary is concerned. The school recently updated its playground equipment with funky new equipment designed to get kids to rethink the way they play.

Gone is the traditional jungle gym and monkey bars and in place is hipper equipment such as the Mobius and Velocity2.
The fifth- and sixth-graders at the East Lansing school have a challenging new way to play and imagine.
"The idea is that it's out of the box thinking which will have the kids thinking more creatively," Glencairn Principal Anita Kelley said.
In the center of the playground rests the Durado, a spiraling rock climbing wall that sends kids up, down and under the 10-foot structure.
The innovative wall is the first of its kind at any playground in Michigan, Kelley said.
