Small Planet Making Big Noise in East Lansing

The Small Planet dance club and concert venue, which left the East Lansing scene in 2000, is making a big comeback. The club will re-open in a 10,00 square foot building on the north side of East Lansing this July.

According to excerpts from the article:

Former owner Vaughn Schneider will act as the general manager while his daughter Natalie Schneider takes over ownership.

They already have a liquor license and they're working to renovate the space. Inside, there's a concrete bar, and a spot for a large-rounded stage.

The old Small Planet attracted the likes of Kid Rock, The Verve Pipe and Weezer and Natalie Schneider hopes to attract the same type of acts.

"It's going to be an entertainment complex and we want to get the big names in here from live music, to magic and comedy acts," she said. "The capacity is 550 and at $10 to $20 for a show, we can get some big musical acts."
