Lansing officials have commissioned a study to determine exactly what kind of impact the rising activity level in Downtown has had on the city and what improvements can be made to maintain this forward movement.

Consultants this week have been talking with downtown business owners, residents and area community members about the downtown Lansing business district.
The goal is to put together the first market study of the area since former Mayor David Hollister's Blue Ribbon Committee on Downtown Revitalization released its report in 2000.
"Downtown Lansing has so dramatically changed over the last three years that we need a new statistical guide on how to move forward," said Bob Trezise, president of the Lansing Economic Development Corp.
